  | Mason is discreet: She will not reveal which designers shop her store for "inspiration." "I won't say who, "Mason says coyly, "but someone was in here yesterday buying a lot of early 80's shoes. They're all after the same thing. Everyone is looking for something fabulous, for an ionic piece. First, it was the '40's and then the '60's and the '70's. "I don't really focus on designers," says vintage queen Elizabeth Mason. "it's more about getting a really great look." That said, Mason also happens to have one of the world's most flawless reserves of Yves Saint Laurent and Dior. Specializing in pieces from the Sixties through the Eighties, Mason's collection also includes Pucci blouses that she's redesigned and cut into contemporary shapes. Julia Roberts and Carmen Kass are fans. Mason's second book, "Valuable Vintage," hits book shelves next spring. |
